HOPWA (Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS) Position:
Program Assistant JOB SUMMARY This position assists with the HOPWA program for eligible clients living with HIV/AIDS.
Responsible for a variety of support functions within the HOPWA Department including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline processes, and working cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities of the Program Assistant include, but are not limited to:
Performs various routine clerical duties, utilizing standard office equipment Provides direct support to the HIV Housing Case Manager Develops or assists with the development of marketing materials for the HOPWA Program objectives Complete intakes with clients and schedule appointments when needed Conduct monthly random audits of housing files Follow up with residents who have exited the program and provide additional resources if needed, provide required report to supervisor Contacts potential residents to update information and assess housing needs; prep intake packets Complete and mail warning and discharge letters to clients in Central Intake Monitor housing waiting list when necessary Ensure all housing files are organized according to standard and all documents are uploaded in HMIS Identify needed resources in the community relevant to housing needs Establish relationships with landlords for ML clients and those hardest to house Maintain and order office supplies Discharge clients from Central Intake who have not followed up for services and make sure charts are appropriately stored Communicates verbally and written with all levels of management Processes, receives, sorts and distributes a variety of correspondence Enters information into HMIS and Excel Spreadsheets as requested Preps files for retention at the end of each FY Provides support to all HOPWA Housing staff KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS- REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE Excellent customer service skills Highly proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Calendar scheduling, EXCEL, Publisher and PowerPoint and ability to learn new software systems Effective communication with all levels of management and customers served Possess solid problem solving and multi-tasking skills Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record and personal auto insurance Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
REQUIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Three (3) years related office work experience preferred SALARY RANGE Varies depending upon qualifications and experience.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
