UndisclosedDescriptionJob SummaryUnder the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, the assistant/associate professor performs duties relative to teaching, service and research in the physical therapy field.

Use active learning strategies to teach entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy learners in faculty member's area of expertise Create and maintain a scholarly agenda in faculty member's area of expertise consistent with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
Engage in service to the university and the profession through committee appointments, providing continuing education offerings, clinical practice, consulting, etc.
Role model the core values of the physical therapy profession to students and peers, which include:
accountability, altruism, compassion/caring, excellence, integrity, professional duty, and social responsibility Advise learners in academic and professional development issues Physical Demands Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, and to use standard office equipment including a computer and 10-key calculator Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment Must have ability to lift and carry 25 pounds Required Application DocumentsPlease upload the following documents with your application Resume/Vitae Cover Letter QualificationsRequired Qualifications Eligible for physical therapy licensure in Mississippi Either post-professional doctorate degree (or ABD) or DPT with clinical specialist certification.
Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.
Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of academic or clinical teaching experience.
Familiarity with and willingness to employ active learning strategies.
